We are looking back at a wonderful and insightful conference ‘Ways of Caring – Practicing Solidarity’!
A big thank you to all contributors and participants - all international collectives, organizations, networks, researchers and creative practitioners who shared their ways of caring, actively engaging all participants to practice solidarity in many different ways. We touched upon a wide variety of important topics in relation to solidarity in fashion: from intersectionality and co-design, solidarity with non-human beings, queer methodologies, to practicing decoloniality, sharing non-Western solidarity systems and visions from the Global South, non-monetary forms of exchange, and to European legislation on living wages.
Livestream and recordings
The online programs will be available on our website and on the online platform APRIA (ArtEZ Platform for Research Interventions of the Arts, www.apria.artez.nl) in September.
ArtEZ book publication: Call for Contributions
During the conference, we’ve launched an Open Call for Contributions for a new book publication at ArtEZ Press, with the working title Practicing Solidarity: Critical Fashion and Agency that Matters. We invite you to contribute! For more information, please check out: Call for Contributions: new book publication Practicing Solidarity - ArtEZ Fashion Professorship.
We are looking forward to continuing our conversations and collaborations - to share and put into practice what we are developing together!
